To Fly

from ON THE GO by f/SYNCLIPSE

lyrics

The rain falls off of a light blockade,
as I hold a borrowed bottle of worries.
Oh how can anyone see in this weather?
I could barely see my own socks.

And I'm...
Sitting on a train track wishing I could fly,
Through the grim, dark and fluffy clouds of dispair.
Like the blue birds that taught themselves how to sing a lullaby,
and flew away over the rainbow, to paradise.

The news picks up, faster than the sound of light,
They've come to me for something other than pity.
They ask my name, holding up the microphone,
And I call out to them, the first man to fly.

And I'm sitting on a train seat dreaming I could fly,
through the gaps between buildings that break the sky.
Like the hero we often wish to be,
the one with a lotta merchandise.

In the rain, dripping wet, I feel it coming,
shaking ground, the horn, the hiss, and the screech.
the fog around becomes a yellow tint,
at least it blinds before darkness.

And I'm...
Standing on a train track wishing my life was different,
All those days wasted spending time procastinating.
There are too many actions I deeply regret,
Hopefully this one single action will be the last...

And they're standing all around as the wooden box is lowered,
with black umbrellas shielding them from the rain.
There's a stone placed engraved with my own name,
And it says, with a bold font, the first man to fly.
